Mathematics for Sustainability A Collaborative Initiative with Hands of Mercy International

Mathematics for Sustainability is an in-person seminar hosted by Feishu in collaboration with the China–BRICS Artificial Intelligence Development and Cooperation Center, with support from Hands of Mercy International.

The seminar will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Luis Seco focused on the integration of mathematics and sustainable development, highlighting the role of mathematical thinking in addressing global sustainability challenges.

In his keynote lecture, Professor Luis Seco will explore how mathematics guides human interaction with the Earth and with each other—from modeling climate systems and energy networks to designing resilient infrastructure and intelligent technologies. He will also examine how mathematical frameworks help analyze interconnected systems, quantify uncertainty, and design strategies that balance economic growth, social equity, and ecological limits.
