In Quetta, Balochistan, the voices of young people rose with clarity and urgency during a youth dialogue focused on economic and political empowerment. At the center of this engagement were Hands of Mercy International Volunteers, working alongside partners to create a platform where youth could speak, be heard, and influence the future of their communities.
“We need to be empowered through education—quality education—not only in rural areas but in urban areas too,” shared one young activist, highlighting a common concern among participants.
Throughout the dialogue, youth emphasized the critical role of education, skills development, and inclusive systems in shaping their future. They called for greater investment in learning opportunities, noting that without relevant skills, access to dignified employment remains limited. At the same time, they underscored the importance of addressing systemic barriers, particularly within political structures, to better support and engage the next generation.
Participants also stressed the role of families and communities in promoting equality. “Adults have a big role to play in ensuring boys and girls are given equal opportunities to succeed,” one participant noted, reflecting the broader call for gender equality and social inclusion.
Hands of Mercy International Volunteers played a key role in facilitating these conversations—engaging youth, supporting dialogue, and ensuring that diverse perspectives were represented. Their presence helped bridge the gap between institutions and communities, reinforcing the importance of locally driven solutions.
With nearly 64% of Pakistan’s population under the age of 29, the country stands at a pivotal moment. This growing youth population represents not a challenge, but a powerful opportunity—to invest in potential, strengthen participation, and build a more inclusive and equitable future.
