  • Strengthening Climate Action in Jordan – Evidence Report
  • Annex A – Overview of Climate and Disaster Policies in Jordan

Jordan continues to face growing climate-related challenges that are increasing the country’s vulnerability to disasters. Rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, and more frequent flash floods are placing significant pressure on water resources, agriculture, and livelihoods. These impacts threaten long-term development progress and the well-being of vulnerable communities.

In response, Hands of Mercy International, working in collaboration with national stakeholders and research partners, conducted a comprehensive assessment of Jordan’s climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction (DRR) landscape. The study examines existing policies and frameworks, identifies key gaps and implementation challenges, and provides actionable recommendations to strengthen resilience efforts.

The findings are presented across three key publications:

  1. Policy Brief – offering practical and evidence-based recommendations to enhance climate adaptation and disaster preparedness.
  2. Evidence Report – providing in-depth analysis and data to support the findings and proposed interventions.
  3. Annex – outlining existing national laws, policies, and institutional frameworks related to climate action and disaster risk management.

These resources are designed to support policymakers, donors, and development partners in advancing effective, inclusive, and sustainable climate resilience strategies in Jordan.

Hands of Mercy International remains committed to working alongside communities and partners to build resilience, protect vulnerable populations, and promote sustainable development in the face of climate change.
