Hands of Mercy International focused on mobilizing communities and strengthening linkages between local institutions, service providers, and support systems to ensure coordinated and accessible care for vulnerable children. The organization also contributed to building technical capacity in HIV response and gender-sensitive programming, while supporting the monitoring and strengthening of district and community-level systems.

The project achieved the following:

  • Improved the quality, coordination, efficiency, and coverage of services delivered to orphans and vulnerable children.
  • Strengthened care systems in line with national standards through enhanced referrals and linkages to essential services.
  • Collaborated with complementary initiatives supporting vulnerable children to ensure a holistic response.
  • Strengthened the Luapula Foundation’s organizational capacity to comply with USAID financial, administrative, and management procedures.
